35 weeks...

...and hanging in there. The big news this week is that I got put on modified bed rest. I don't have to spend the entire day in bed, but I have to spend the majority of my day either laying down or sitting in a chair. I must say, when she first told me she was putting me on bed rest, my immediate thought was that there was no way I could not work...the financial burden was too big. But at the very same time, it was physically and mentally a huge relief. I'm just exhausted. And it couldn't have come at a better time. Due to all of the fluid I have, I've been having some trouble with numbness in my fingers. Now its my entire right arm and its all day and all night long. There's no way I could sit at a computer all day anymore...I wouldn't be able to get anything done. Plus, just taking a shower has become really tiring. My body is just ready to be done. It's funny though, out of all of the aches and pains, none of them are a direct result of Presley herself, it's just how my body is reacting to the pregnancy. Knock on wood...I've never felt any little feet in my rib cage. I don't know that I've ever even known when she's had the hiccups.

The game plan now is to see the doctor once a week, and I'll also have an ultrasound and stress test once a week. It shouldn't be long now!

34 weeks...

...and I missed another week. I don't think there was anything too exciting to report on anyway.

Today I had a Biophysical Profile and a Non-Stress Test. It seems we have an academic all-star on our hands already, as Presley scored a perfect 10 out of 10! They checked her movement, her practice breathing, and the amniotic fluid level...all of which were great. Her current weight is 6 pounds 2 ounces. (Let's hope she takes a little break from the weight gain!) There was a brief moment of concern during the stress test because, unknown to me, I was having some fairly big contractions. Once I drank a big glass of water and laid on my left side for awhile they went away. Just something I need to pay attention to. I want her to come early, but definitely not this early!

I also started physical therapy this past week for all of the pain I've been having. So far, I'm not impressed. I've had worse pain since I left the place. I go again tomorrow, so hopefully we'll try something different. I haven't slept much the past few nights and its really starting to take a toll on me. It's been hard to keep my eyes open at work, which makes for a pretty long day.

That's all for today. Let the countdown begin!

32 weeks...

...and incredibly uncomfortable. Oh the joys of being super pregnant in the summer. A friend and I were comparing frustrations the other day and I discovered I'm not alone, which made me feel just a tiny bit better. My feet look like overblown balloons, my fingers feel like like I'm an 85 year old woman with athritis, my arms are constantly numb and tingly due to my pregnancy carpel tunnel, my back is killing me, and I still have that horrible ligament pain. Oh...and my weight gain across the rest of my body is quickly catching up to my tummy. Yuck. All in all, I'm not feelin' so hot. Actually I am feeling hot...literally. And we don't have air conditioning. I know she'll be worth it all, of course. And I'm sure one day...a long time from now...I'll probably even want to do all of this one more time. I've certainly changed my desire of wanting 5 kids though.

I'm sure there was a lot more I was going to go through this week, but I can't think right now. This pregnancy stuff is exhuasting!

31 weeks....

...and I forgot to take a picture! I thought for sure I had one, but I can't find it :( Onto week 32.

...and baby girl Jensen finally has a name!

PRESLEY!!!

We're about 99% sure on the middle name, then we'll make that announcement. Baby steps. This is kind of a big deal. :)

29 weeks...

...and full of information. For those of you who don't know, I found out last week that I have gestational diabetes. Not too much of a surprise, being my mom had it. I'm hoping to avoid her pain of having a 10 pound, 10 ounce baby (me) however. So the biggest thing I need to do is change my diet. Drastically. I never truly realized how much junk I ate until I had to meet with a dietician and give her a breakdown of my daily indulgences. It was a bit embarassing. Like how I have a granola bar for a snack, but not the good kind of course. And my love of those golden arches. And let's not forget that chocolate has been a major food group in my life for as long as I can remember. Atleast she didn't tell me I can't have cheese. I've got to be able to keep something, right? Its been a challenge to say the least. I also have to poke my finger 4-5 times a day to check my blood sugar, which my doctor will keep an eye on. So far, no insulin shots. Its only been about a week, and I think I've done pretty good so far. I'd like to say that anyone that comes to see us in the hospital won't be allowed in without a king size candy bar, but I suppose that won't help me get back into shape. I certainly wouldn't turn them away though.

We also started our parenting classes this week. It was pretty fun for the most part. They certainly don't waste any time getting into the good stuff though. We watched a video. Yep, THAT video. I wasn't too keen on watching it myself, but I was definitely worried about Matt seeing that. I will never forget the look on his face when I looked over at him. His hands were over his mouth and his eyes were pretty big. He wasn't hamming it up either...it looked pretty genuine. He stayed upright though. So that was promising.

This weekend is a big one for Matt. His first Father's Day. He's been reminding me of the date for about a month now. I have something nice planned for him so I'm excited too. He's pretty wonderful.

28 weeks...

...and STILL running behind. It's been pretty hectic around here lately so I'll jump ahead to week 29. Right now. Before I forget.
